Mowing

When mowing your Fine Fescue Blend turf, it’s important to maintain a higher cutting height compared to other grass varieties. Aim for a height of around 7 – 10 centimetres. This higher cutting height allows the fine fescue grasses to develop strong root systems, increases their shade tolerance and helps to suppress weed growth. 

Watering

Fine fescue blend turf has good drought tolerance, but proper watering is still crucial. Water deeply and infrequently to encourage deep root growth and drought resistance. Apply enough water to moisten the soil to a depth of about 15 centimetres. This encourages the roots to grow deeper into the soil, making your turf more resilient to dry periods. 

Fertilisation

Regular fertilisation is important to keep your Fine Fescue Blend turf healthy. Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser according to the recommended schedule for your specific turf. This helps to provide the necessary nutrients for strong growth and vibrant colour.
